Special Guest artist on this Cd is Tenor Andrew Pryor. Andrew is the founder member of "The Ten Tenors".
I am very honoured to have sung these duets with him. He truly has a most magnificent Voice.
Whilst in some terms From the Heart sounds like a tried and true formula that has been done to death by every recording artist since Adam was a boy, this album has been put together with great thought and inspiration from years of performance in everything from Classical Opera and Gilbert and Sullivan to Cabaret and Jazz.
Each song has a special meaning and a memory that has helped to create the person that I am today; and with this album I invite you into my heart to share with me a journey.
Well I suppose the journey begins with being born and growing up in Scotland. As we walk life’s paths its funny how we seem to drift back to our roots and I suppose is where my passion began with celtic music. The particular tracks on this album such as Carrickfergus and The Last Rose of Summer fill me with thoughts and images of my childhood and the mystery and tradition of my Celtic heritage.
After Leaving Scotland and settling in Western Australia I first contracted to The Western Australian Opera Company where I performed many roles. From there into broadcasting with The ABC and the Western Australian Symphony Orchestra then onto the Australian Opera Company where I performed both in Australia and toured throughout the world with performers such as Joan Sutherland and Joan Carden, Donald Smith and James Morris, and Maestro Richard Bonynge
Songs such as Habanera and O Mio Babbino Caro are favourites from this era and remind me of the experience and at various times the awe that I felt at being a part of such majesty in the production of some of the greatest operas ever written. The raw emotion that these types of pieces evoke is fresh still today as I recreate these pieces for you.
After deciding to call it a day with large scale productions ( I think I needed to find myself again, to rediscover who I am as a person) I coached for a bit then started to dabble in a variety of types of musical theatre including Gilbert and Sullivan. I also branched out into alternative styles including Celtic and Jazz.
Whilst this time of my life brought me great happiness and personal satisfaction, it was the great lessons it taught me; the realisation of how precious life is and how important are the people we surround ourselves with on a daily basis. It also taught me how important music is and how it can define our lives and our moods. It can delineate the expressions of our very souls and project that image through its delivery; such is how great music is made.
I have experienced many things in my life and this album is but a snapshot into the world I have seen and the world we can all be a part of if only we would open our hearts and let it in.

Reviewer: Sally Mischefski... - New Zealand
What a wonderful CD it is.The songs you have choosen are so delightful, im not usually a great listenier of the classical but i found these so entrancing i play it at night when going to bed and take it with me in the car when traveling,i like to have it reasonably loud in the car, but softer in the bedroom, dont want to keep the neighbours awake..I see you have done another one, i hope my daughter will send me a copy... There are some lovely songs in the Phantom of the Opera hopefully you will include some of them in the new CD.. Once again many thanks for giving me so many hours of pleasure with your "Kathleen From The Heart"..May you always walk in the white light of love... regards Sally Mischefski...
